KAGAMINE TWINS

Kagamine Rin - Meltdown |
There are various interpretations of this song. The PV can be literally interpreted as Rin jumping into a nuclear reactor to commit a martyred suicide or figuratively as Rin trying to get rid of her past or to purge herself of her sins, and leave it behind in order to grow up and become an adult.
Iroha says the lyrics and video represent conflicts of inner psychological world. In the video, Rin jumps into a reactor core/nuclear reactor and chokes someone, possibly to death. The little Rin stands for innocent childish mind inside her. The choking scene symbolizes erasing her past self and starting a new. [1]
Piano sheet music appeared in the ピアノソロ やさしくひける ボーカロイド Selection for Piano collection. This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series. This also song featured in the mook ボカロ☆バンドスコア, vol.2.
This song is featured in the Miku no Hi Kanshasai 39's Giving Day concert, the Mikunopolis in Los Angeles concert, the MikuPa Tokyo 2011 concert, and the Miku no Hi Dai Kanshasai 39's Giving Day concert; also in games such as Project DIVA 2nd, Project DIVA Extend, Project DIVA Arcade and Miku Flick/02.
The Controversy
There was a controversy over the video related with the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking. Taking advantage of the Vocaloid Ranking's score system, the people made dummy accounts and put the song on their MyList, just to increase its score in the ranking, making it stay in the top 20 indefinitely. Though iroha(sasaki) asked the viewers to stop the illegitimate scoring, it did not end and in retaliation, Iroha deleted the video from his account and put it up on Nagimiso.SYS's. This disqualified the video from being in the Rankings as one of the requirements is that the original composer must submit it.
This raised the awareness of the cheating behind the Rankings. The score system of the ranking was modified, thus taking many long-lasting regulars such as Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu, Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru, and World is Mine off the list altogether.
The new PV put up on Nagimiso.SYS's account features several touched-up areas including a different-looking reactor, new countdown text, and added detail in certain scenes.
MEIKO SAKINE

Meiko Sakine - Noise |
Sakine Meiko (咲音メイコ; Meiko Sakine) is an officially recognized derivative of Meiko. Her name of Sakine咲音, literally means "Blooming Sound" and has the same pronunciation as 先音, "Preceding Sound," i.e., she precedes Hatsune Miku. Her family name is sometimes shared among her other fanmade "siblings", such asMeito in particular.
The term "Derivative" is used here to describe a fanmade Vocaloid character that is based on an already existing character.

MEGPOID GUMI FEAT HATSUNE MIKU

Megpoid Gumi Feat Hatsune Miku - Matryoshka |
Made in celebration of Miku's birthday, this is a rather chaotic and addictive alternative rock composition which reached over a million hits with incredible speed (less than 32 days which is a feat that most other well-known songs would take from a few months to a year to achieve).
The lyrics are almost nonsensically vague, giving it a crazy and psychotic feeling to the song. Due to this, it can be interpreted in various ways, which has spawned many plausible but not entirely official readings.
Hachi's songs are known to be confusing, deep and open for interpretation. Matryoshka could be literally about people trying to interpret Hachi's song. It's possible he just wrote up a song for the sake of deliberately tempting us, which sounds like trolling, to have a go at deciphering it. With 524, It skips 1 and 3. The numbers 1 and 3 can be read in Japanese as "imi” which translates to “meaning/purpose” in English. Since they are missing, there's "no meaning/purpose."
One interpretation is that in middle of all that madness, there is a hidden inner pain or sadness as is hinted in several occasions in the song, and the madness is just a sort of facade or defence mechanism to bear that pain.
Another interpretation given to the song is that Gumi and Miku are breaking down from the stress put on them by their master(s), who is technically making them sing and dance so much just for entertainment.
Piano sheet music appeared in the ピアノソロ やさしくひける ボーカロイド Selection for Piano2 collection. This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series, as well as in the Vocaloid Superselection piano solo collection. This song also featured in the mook ボカロ☆バンドスコア.
MEGURINE LUKA

Megurine Luka - Just be Friends |
One of the most popular Luka songs.
"Just Be Friends" (commonly acronym as JBF) is about how a girl (Luka) and a boy's current relationship is going nowhere; therefore, they start to realize that the relationship is falling apart. Eventually the speaker pulls the plug and breaks up with the other. What became of the broken-hearted person is up to the viewer.
Though the song is sung by Luka, some fans interpret that it is from the boy's point of view; however, this is not confirmed or supported in any way by the creator, and both interpretations would cause inconsistencies with the PV. Fans' opinions remain divided.
A reply song, Answer, debuted at Anime Expo 2012 and was later posted on Nico Nico Douga on July 27, 2012. It's set three years after the original song and shows how the girl has moved on.
Piano sheet music appeared in the Piano Solo Yasashiku Hikeru VOCALOID Selection for Piano collection. This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series.
This song is featured in the games -Project DIVA- 2nd, -Project DIVA- Arcade, -Project DIVA- extend, Miku Flick/02, and in the concerts Miku no Hi Kanshasai 39's Giving Day, Mikunopolis, and Miku no Hi Dai Kanshasai 39's Giving Day. It is featured in the EXIT TUNES compilation albums Vocaloanthems, Megurythm, and SUPER PRODUCERS BEAT as an MK Remix.
Controversy
The original "Just Be Friends" upload on Nico Nico Douga has been temporarily undisplayed by Dixie Flatline due to Yunomi-P's Plagiarism,[1] where all or part of her PVs were traced.
Top Ten Hatsune Miku Song
10. The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku
A crazed ultra-speed song with tempo reaching an upper limit of 240BPM about Hatsune Miku's uninstallation. She realizes that she is not equal to a human being, but her wish is to keep on singing. Suprisingly, despite of being widely perceived as impossible for humans to sing, this song actually has a few fandubs and a NicoNico chorus of high quality. Most of the official Vocaloids also have their own "personalized" cover of this song as well.
It is said that the song was based off of an event that occured in 2009 on YouTube, where the words "an error has occured." would pop up on YouTube whenever someone tried to listen to a Hatsune Miku video (this literallyhappened all over the world). While the song is believed to have been based on the event, the song was actually uploaded in 2008, and this took place a year after.
This song is featured in the Miku no Hi Kanshasai 39's Giving Day, the Mikunopolis in Los Angeles and the Miku no Hi Dai Kanshasai 39's Giving Day; also in the games -Project DIVA-, -Project DIVA- extend, -Project DIVA- Arcade and Miku Flick. It is also featred in the mook ボカロ☆バンドスコア.
A novel of this song was also made.
9. Spica
This song is in a mischief of a constellation. It depicts Miku being the Star of the Night sky, forever watching and loving us from above. She also travels as each passing night, forever watching over us, looking over us, she sings her sorrow of saying goodbye as the sun rises as each day lacks a bright star that can't be seen.
The meaning behind the song is debatable, and many interpretations may arise from each action of the song.
This song is featured in the 39's Giving Day 2010 concert, the MikuNoPolis 2011 concert and the 39's Giving Day 2012 concert; also in the games -Project DIVA- extend, -Project DIVA- Arcade and Miku Flick/02 (DLC).
This song has entered the Hall of Fame.
8. Love Is War
This song is about how Miku's crush is in love with someone else and she will fight for him. Miku declares that "Love is war" and that in the end, she will make her love only see her.
Love is War has been a very popular song and has covers by almost every official vocaloid. Due to the songs popularity, it has been translated many times in various languages by different translators and although the lyrics may slightly change, the overall meaning is the same.
There is even an Album dedicated to the song, entitled Eager Love Revenge, with various remixes from many Artists including Ryo himself.
This song is featured in the Miku FES'09 Concert; also in the games -Project DIVA-, -Project DIVA- Arcade andMiku Flick/02.
This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series.
7. Ura Omote Lovers
The lyrics are vague, but the most common interpretation is that the song is about the confusion of a girl in love or the mess in a girl's life after she gets pregnant. A girl falls in love with a boy and he uses her for sex, and she gets pregnant and he leaves her and she doesn't know what to do.
This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series.
6. Po Pi Po
Lamaze-P (ラマーズP) is the creator of the two famous internet memes "Get Down" and "Po Pi Po", the latter of which he composed himself. Many of his works are silly, but he has created some serious songs as well. He is known as ゴジマジP (GojimajiP) when he is using UTAUs.
He is also very skilled at art, and so many of his songs have videos made by him. He has a CD with several of his best songs in it; "Exit Tunes Presents The Complete Best Of Lamaze-P ".
5. Rollin' Girl
Released in February 14, 2010, this song hit the 2nd position in the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking of the week which it debuted . The song has over 3 million of views in NND.
The lyrics are very vague, but the general idea is that a girl with far-off dreams and a history of constantly "failing" takes to "rolling", even though her goal is still too far away and she would rather "stop her breathing". Commonly, the song has been interpreted as being about bullying, being shunned or failing constantly.
This song is featured in the MikuPa Live in Tokyo 2011 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Sapporo 2011 Concert, theMikuPa Live in Singapore 2011 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Tokyo 2012 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Hong Kong and Taiwan 2012 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Sapporo 2013 Concert and the MikuPa Live in Kansai 2013 Concert; also in the games -Project DIVA- extend and -Project DIVA- Arcade.

3. Melt
This song is about a shy girl who is in love with a boy. In her pursuit of him, she gets her bangs cut and hopes he will notice, all the while encouraging herself to look cute. Her love is pure; she says that she loves him for him and not because she is in love with being in love, but it would melt her to confess. Then, it rains. She has a collapsible umbrella in her bag, which she thought was too small, but the boy joins her under the umbrella of his own will. Heart pounding, she is so happy she could cry, because in Japan sharing an umbrella is a sign of shared feelings and associated with couples. When they reach the station, she almost tells him to hold her because she does not want to leave him, and can not believe herself.
Multiple Fanmade PVs for "Melt" exist; most of them feature Miku as the protagonist, acting out the events described by the song. The "boyfriend" character is often represented by a man whose face isn't seen (a technique often used to represent "Master", or the Vocaloid user), or at times by Kaito.
"Melt" and its PVs are so popular on Nico Nico Douga and Youtube that it has been featured in some Nico Nico Medleys, and has many covers and parodies both by live musicians and other Vocaloids.
This song is featured in the Miku FES'09 Concert, the 39's Giving Day 2010 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Tokyo 2011 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Sapporo 2011 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Singapore 2011 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Tokyo 2012 Concert, the 39's Giving Day 2012 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Hong Kong and Taiwan 2012 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Sapporo 2013 Concert and the MikuPa Live in Kansai 2013 Concert; also in the games -Project DIVA-, -Project DIVA- 2nd, -Project DIVA- Arcade and Miku Flick.
This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series. Piano sheet music appeared in the ピアノソロ やさしくひける ボーカロイド Selection for Piano collection.
2. Tell Your World
The song was originally featured in a Japanese Google Chrome commercial which was uploaded onto YouTube on December 14, 2011. Since then, the ad gained 4 million views beating other Japanese Google Chrome ads featuring popular singers such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. The original ad can be found here. Livetune later uploaded the full music video for the song onto their official YouTube channel on March 12, 2012. The video was as popular as the ad, currently having more than 6,000,000 views.
This song is featured in the 39's Giving Day 2012 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Hong Kong and Taiwan 2012 Concert, the MikuPa Live in Sapporo 2013 Concert and the MikuPa Live in Kansai 2013 Concert; also in the game Project DIVA F.
Piano sheet music appeared in the ピアノソロ やさしくひける ボーカロイド Selection for Piano2 collection. This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series and in Vocaloid Superselection piano solo. It will also be featured in the upcoming video game -Project DIVA- F.
1. The World is Mine ^_^
The song is about a spoiled girl who believes herself to be a "princess" that the world revolves around, and her struggles with falling in love with a standoffish boy. There are many PV variations for this song, but the narrator is almost always portrayed as a short-tempered and fickle Miku (interesting because of the meek and sweet-tempered manner that Miku is often portrayed with) but with a "tsundere" side.
This song is featured in the Miku FES'09 Concert, the 39's Giving Day 2010 Concert, the MikuNoPolis 2011 Concertand the 39's Giving Day 2012 Concert; also in the games -Project DIVA-, -Project DIVA- 2nd, -Project DIVA- Arcade, Miku Flick and -Project DIVA- f (AR only).
This song has also appeared as sheet music in the Vocaloid Best selection series. Piano sheet music appeared in the ピアノソロ やさしくひける ボーカロイド Selection for Piano collection.
Tributes and Popularity
In addition to the Miku version of World Is Mine, there is an official sequal called I'll Teach You (Oshiete Ageru in romaji) sung by Nagi (a female singer in Supercell). Also, there are famous covers by other vocaloids including Kaito, Rin/Len Kagamine, Gakupo Kamui and Meiko. The lyrics in these covers are changed so that they match up with each characters perspective. There is a version for nearly every character.
"World is Mine" is very popular among female singers on Nico Nico Douga and Youtube, and has received multiple covers.
VOCALOID

Vocaloid Versi 2 |

Kagamine Twins - Gemini |
The song was first uploaded on March 7th, 2008. It was Dixie Flatline's first Vocaloid song and his first big hit, which established him as a popular producer and resulted in him being nicknamed Gemini no Hito (ジェミニの人) by the Japanese fandom. It is featured in several albums, including the EXIT TUNES compilation "Vocalolegend" and the album "Prism" (a full album of cover songs sung by Asami Shimoda). It is also featured in the game -Project DIVA- 2nd.
Gemini is a song sung by both Rin and Len. The tone and wording of the song is rather vague, but many have taken it as a song about them as twins since Len likens himself and Rin to Gemini in the sky.
Throughout the song, Rin sings about how she goes through many troubles throughout her life, with Len coming to her aid and letting her feel as though she is not alone. The song also has references to astronomy and astrology, one time even saying that they were destined to meet 'beyond the night sky'.
Note that Gemini is referring to the meaning "twins" and not the zodiac, though there are references.
